Pancake Breakfast is tomorrow morning from 8:30-10:00! Has your two year old been doing squats and burpees so they can find those eggs way down low? Have you been giving your second grader protein shakes to lift those Easter baskets? Has your fifth grader been doing sprints with weights on their legs in anticipation of the egg hunts? If you answered yes to any of these (or even if you didn't), then tomorrow is their time to shine! We'll have free pancakes, sausage, and juice for breakfast in the kitchen, Easter Crafts in the Fellowship Hall, and four different Easter Egg Hunts for preschool (0-Pre-K) and elementary(Bridge/Kinder-5th) children outside. Bring your own baskets. We hope to see you in the morning!
Join us for our Journey to the Cross service where we combine parts of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday together to tell the story of Jesus' last days leading up to the cross.
Have you ever wondered why we call Good Friday good? It comes from an antiquated meaning of good where good meant holy, i.e. Holy Friday. In our modern times, we still use this term because we see the good that Jesus' death accomplishes for us - destroying the power of sin in our lives. Join us tonight at 6:30 during our Journey to the Cross service as we hear about Jesus' last days and moments leading to his death. God brings good out of heartache, and this is good news.
Today is the first of three days of solemn remembrance of Jesus' last days and sacrifice. On Maundy Thursday we remember the last supper Jesus shared with his disciples for his betrayal, arrest, and crucifixion. We hope that you'll join us for our Journey to the Cross service tomorrow at 6:30 PM. During the first part of the service, we'll celebrate communion and remember this meal by sharing the bread and the cup together.
Holy Week began on Sunday as we celebrated Jesus entering Jerusalem for the last time. How are you commemorating Holy Week?

*New Series for Lent* This series explores the historic Christian season of Lent—from Ash Wednesday through Palm Sunday. This rich Christian tradition points us back to the reality of our sin and our desperate need for a Savior. Christians have participated in this season not as a means of meaningless self-denial or pious ritual keeping, but as a means of emptying ourselves of distracting comforts so that we can be filled with renewed faith and hope.
Lent Devotional Date: March 10, 2019 Theme: Consequences of Sin Author: Rev. Andrew Keyes Scripture: Genesis 3:1-5 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Devotional: Since the beginning of creation humanity has faced the same problem in different ways, and it all started in the garden. The serpent, commonly understood to be Satan (which means enemy in Hebrew), challenged God by tempting humanity. Satan made them question God by challenging what God said, rejecting the reality of consequences, and tempting them to put themselves in God’s place. We still question God in the same ways today – we challenge God by not believing what God actually said, we don’t want to accept the reality of the consequences of our sin, and we try to put ourselves in God’s place by defining good and evil for ourselves. Adam and Eve faced the consequences of their sins, and we still face the consequences of our sin on a daily basis. May Lent be a season where we ask God to obviously reveal our sins so that we can turn back to Him. Prayer: God of forgiveness, that’s exactly what we need from you. Just like humanity from the beginning of time we too have been trying to define good and evil for ourselves. We listen to constantly changing emotions and feelings more than your eternal and everlasting Word to us. Help us to see the consequences of sin in our own life so that we can repent and turn back to you. Give us the humility to receive your grace and mercy as we seek your guidance. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
